Course Description
This course is designed to provide the Medical Office Assistant student with the requisite math skills commonly utilized within a medical office setting. The curriculum teaches basic application-level mathematical functions that require technical and critical thinking skills. Students will learn how to apply basic mathematical concepts within the medical office setting. Topics covered in this course include the importance of mathematics to the healthcare profession, the application of math skills as they apply to the medical field, and other vital skills required for medical office work.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to use numerical systems, appropriate measurement systems, whole numbers, decimals and fractions to perform appropriate medical dosage conversions.
