Course Description
This course will introduce information about basic bookkeeping and accounting functions, and provide a basic knowledge of the business transactions routinely performed within the professional medical office setting. Topics include a review of financial statements, journalizing, posting to specific ledger accounts, the accounting cycle and its impact on the office setting, bank statements and cash handling, and the recording of employee earnings and deductions.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to properly assign accounting concepts to specific office tasks and adequately manage the day-to-day operations of the professional medical office.
